Event branding is one of those things that’s often left until the last minute - but it's one of the most powerful tools you have to shape how people experience your event. Done well, it brings everything together. It makes your event feel organised, professional, and on-brand, and it helps guests know where they are and what’s going on.
At Formulate, we work on all sorts of event branding - from large-scale expos to launches, summits, and private dinners. Here’s a quick look at what we think matters most when it comes to branding your event.
1. Making a Powerful First Impression
The moment a potential guest lands on your event page or opens your invite, they’re deciding whether it’s worth their time. Strong event branding instantly communicates professionalism, personality, and purpose while also building trust. A sleek visual identity, clear messaging, and consistent tone are essential to setting the stage.
Tip: Design with consistency. Make sure your fonts, colours, and style reflect your brand guidelines - and make them adaptable for both digital and on-site experiences.
2. Creating a Seamless and Immersive Brand Experience
Every element of your event, from the tickets to signage, should feel like it belongs. Cohesive branding connects the dots and makes the entire experience more immersive and professional. Whether someone’s checking in, finding their seat, or sharing a moment on social media, they should be immersed in your brand at every step.
Tip: Think beyond the basics. Your event brand should extend to lanyards, social filters, slides, stage design, merchandise, and even catering if it suits your concept.
3. Making an Emotional Connection
Design evokes emotion. It can energise, inspire, calm, or excite. A carefully curated visual and experiential identity helps people connect with your event on a deeper level. And when attendees feel emotionally connected, they’re more likely to remember you - and talk about you.
Tip: Use colour psychology, music, and visual storytelling to shape atmosphere. Consider how your brand makes people feel, and bring that to life across the event space.
4. Creating Post-Event Buzz
Great events don’t end when guests leave. A strong brand presence helps content live on through social media posts, press coverage, email recaps, and more. If your branding is memorable, people will tag it, talk about it, and take it with them.
Tip: Include branded photo backdrops, hashtags, and social moments designed for sharing. Consider a takeaway or digital follow-up that ties back to your core message.
Our Work in Event Branding:
Intersec: After a two-year hiatus, Intersec, the leading global emergency services, security, and safety event, returned in January 2022 with a need for a fresh new look to mark its comeback. We rebranded the exhibition with a dynamic, flexible visual system that worked seamlessly across digital and print. Spanning nine halls at DWTC, the event featured thousands of exhibitors and a full conference programme. We worked with Messe Frankfurt to deliver consistent branding across all touchpoints, from banners to signage and exhibition graphics.

City Cricket Academy: We supported City Cricket Academy’s Dubai launch by developing a strong, cohesive visual identity, including a custom logo featuring India’s women’s international vice-captain, Smriti Mandhana. Launch materials and giveaways created a premium experience, while welcome packs introduced families to the academy’s mission, team, and values for a confident start.

Emaar Super Cup: We partnered with Emaar on the UAE Pro League’s Super Cup, creating a visual identity that reflected the event’s prestige. From the logo to marketing materials including signage and tickets, every element was designed to match the elite level of the competition.

Our Strategic Approach to Event Branding:
At Formulate Creative, we take a strategic approach to help us to define the target audience, as well as the goals and ambitions of the event organisers. It also ensures that we clearly understand the type of event they are aiming to deliver.
Based on these insights, we design and develop a unique, creative visual language that stands out and resonates with the audience.
Once the identity is finalised, our creative team delivers branding, marketing, and event design that supports every stage of the journey - from pre-event promotion to on-the-day visuals. Our work ensures a lasting impression on exhibitors, guests, and delegates before, during, and after the event.
