Skyline's branding had become outdated and no longer aligned with the brand that the business had grown into. The business had evolved, services had changed, and the client base had shifted.

A substantial amount of their business was Fine Art Handling and Shipping, Vehicle Shipping with a strong emphasis on motorcycles (which, to many clients, are a prized possession), aviation parts (that need to be moved quickly and securely around the world), and high-end furniture (requiring exceptional care and handling).

Despite having a clearly defined client base, their existing marketing materials and website failed to effectively communicate this or the specialist services Skyline offers. In summary, Skyline's messaging was confusing, lacking structure, and leaving the brand without a clear brand story.

Formulate undertook an in-depth audit of all Skyline's brand touchpoints, including communications, marketing materials, brand identity, and assets. We also led a comprehensive workshop with the Skyline team to gain a deeper insight into the business, clarify the challenges in communicating their services, and evaluate the issues within the existing brand.

From this, we developed a clear brand strategy that defined their target audiences into four distinct pillars, and crafted messaging that effectively communicated their specialist services to each group.

To bring this strategy to life, we then developed three brand identity directions: one that evolved the current branding whilst remaining sympathetic to its origins, and two that pushed the brand further, providing a more modern approach and a clear departure from their previous identity.

We delivered a complete brand refresh and a dynamic, forward-thinking identity that evokes speed, precision, expertise, and confidence. A new, predominantly green colour palette was introduced to convey freshness, vitality, and optimism.

Building upon this new strategic approach, we applied the refreshed identity across a reimagined website and marketing materials, ensuring a clear narrative, structured messaging, and improved clarity on promoting Skyline’s core services and expertise to current and potential clients.

The rollout of the new identity continued across key brand touchpoints, including internal office and warehouse graphics, staff uniforms, vehicle livery, social media, and stationery.

The result is a complete transformation of the Skyline brand, being supported by a clearer internal understanding of the business — who their core client base is, the solutions they provide, and how to communicate these effectively. The new identity has also helped reinvigorate internal teams and create a visual brand they can all be proud of.

The refreshed identity is also having a positive impact on the bottom line, with increased sales across the four core client pillars.
